Event Training Australia’s (ETA) event management courses incorporate processes and practices designed to minimise, or eliminate, negative environmental outcomes that might result from the conduct of business and public events. In doing so we draw on the expertise of various organisations and researchers in the area. The Sustainable Event Alliance (SEA), in this regard, has often been our first port of call. It is therefore noteworthy that SEA has recently revamped its leadership team, which now includes, amongst others, Dr Rob Harris from ETA. Its intention is taking this action is to become a stronger global force in the promotion and advancement of sustainable development within the event industry. If you are beginning your event’s sustainability journey or wish to further progress its efforts in this area, membership of SEA should be a consideration. For a relatively small fee, it will allow you to access a range of valuable resources, as well as providing you with a portal for networking and discussion around sustainable event management. Details regarding SEA and its membership categories can be found at https://sustainable-event-alliance.org/join/
